"The concept of this album is based fundamentaly on my life, bringing the questions of the humans existence and inner world of the individuum in the form of the fictional story of the protagonist/"Victim", which is struggling for survival. Everything is happening basically in the mind of the protagonist, who meets nevertheless the personification of death ("the Walker") in the physical world. The lethal final of the protagonist is presented in the form of some kind of mental self-burning. Though the obvious end of the story, the albums lyrics is intended to open questions of mental strenght, health and survival of a personality in the real life, as well as point out that everybody has a power of mind to change own fate.
It was a long way to get all tracks finished and finalize the concept of Legio Sergia on an album. The songs composed and released as demos, setted up in the fictional fantasy-like antique Rome (in 2011 (I: Assertion) and 2019 (Our Freedom)) have finally got the level of completion that I always wanted to archive. Musically I wanted to bring them as a whole in the 90s melodic /"swedish" kind of death metal style. All this was possible only through the cooperation with Anton (Luna Studio), Viacheslav, Fedor and Infernal Records studio, that have brough amazing sound and vocals to this record. On ne frappe pas un homme à terre : c'est ce que dit la règle mais NONE a déjà prouvé qu'il ne les suivait pas et si son album éponyme retirait toute perspective de béatitude spirituelle, Life has gone on long enough, son deuxième opus, nous interdit l'accès au bonheur terrestre. La vie n'a aucune substance et la production plus distante le confirme. Le DSBM s'empare de textures sonores blues, mettant en relief une dépression urbaine. NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone.
